EDUCATION

Sunday School

The Men’s and Women’s Sunday School class (made up of men from the Carl T. Vance class and women from the Katherine Miller class) meet in the Fellowship Hall and have four rotating teachers (Sally Morrison, Owen Colvin, Chet LaFountaine, Marianne Sharp, and Scott Reams) who use the International Bible Lesson Series. The class utilizes a lecture format.

The 117s Sunday School class led by Paul and Sharon McAnear meets in the lower level across from the theater. Their studies focus on Biblically-based books and videos recommended by the teachers and/or class members.

All of the classes welcome new members.

Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women have long been an important part of the work of our church. They meet the first Thursday of each month from September through May at 10:30am in the Ladies Parlor or in the Theatre. Each month’s lesson is taught by a member of PW. Following the Bible study, the group meets for lunch at different restaurants in the area. This monthly meeting is an opportunity for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Ongoing activities for the year include preparing Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, quarterly gifts to shut-ins and college students, an event with Hope and Thrive Academy, a Memorial Service for deceased members and a book club, to name a few. All women of the congregation are invited to join.
